Introduction to handbuilding

This 2 h 30 introductory course introduces students to the basics of pottery using the handbuilding technique. The course begins with a demonstration of the various steps involved in creating a ceramic object using the pinched-pot technique, and then students create their own pieces.

Materials, glazing and firing included. Pieces are fired in the month following the activity and must be picked up within one month of receiving the confirmation e-mail.

No previous experience required.

The course takes place in small groups of a maximum of 4 people to encourage learning and sharing.

Here are a few recommendations for a better experience:

- keep nails short

- avoid jewelry

- wear clothes that can get dirty

It is the participant's responsibility to arrive on time to be admitted to the class.

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. However, we would like to make it clear that no cancellations from participants will be accepted less than one week before the start of the activity. Moreover, in the event of absence or lateness preventing participation in a course, the latter will not be replaced or reimbursed. 

In the event of cancellation by tournemain, you will be reimbursed and the workshop will contact you to this effect. If a course is not fully booked, it may be cancelled or postponed.

- Although we take the utmost care with your creations, it is important to note that issues may arise at any stage of the ceramic-making process, including during firing. The workshop cannot be held responsible for the final outcome of the pieces.
